SAFETY OF MOBILE BATTERY

Most of the mobile phones come with Lithium ion batteries. These batteries contain full energy and are much more sensitive when compared to the alkaline batteries. It is due to this reason; one needs to handle these mobile phone batteries with care.
Here are some safety tips for mobile battery

Temperature

Mobile phones always need to be kept away from extreme heat or cold to maintain their function. The extremes of temperature harm the batteries and ultimately the mobile phone. Do not place your phone on a hot car on a hot day, especially on the dashboard of the car. If you need to keep your phone in the car on a hot day, put it in the glove compartment. Sometimes your phone turns hot when it is being charged, in such case turns your phone off and continues charging. If you find something odd going on then you better plug it out. Heat drains your phone battery faster. If you are not expecting calls in the night, then turn it off so that it will cool out to prolong the battery life.

Damage

Avoid damage to the phone which in turn damages the phone. When you drop the phone on a hard surface, it damages the battery and the lithium ion cells in the battery are destroyed. When the cells are damaged, so will the complete battery a little while later. Once you drop your phone and doubt the battery might be damaged too, take it to a mobile service centre and do not remove it yourself with a sharp object as it will puncture the battery, which causes internal short circuit and the battery will be overheated.

Water

Always keep your phone dry as even a little moisture can destroy the phone circuit. Once the damage is done to the phone circuit, the phone will not correctly use lithium ion battery and finally the battery will short out.

Charging

Some non authorized mobile phone dealers sell cheap cell phone batteries and chargers which spoil the mobile phone. These chargers destroy the lithium ion batteries because of voltage difference in the phone and charger. So, always use only company manufactured chargers and batteries. Also remember that your phone battery should not be charged for long time that will cause damage the battery because of overheat.
